This starter play structure offers several classic elements of playground fun, for a modest price. More importantly, its design incorporates several important exercise elements for young children. Climbing the staircase and the corkscrew climber are basic aerobic activities. The corkscrew climber also increases upper-body strength and the muscles of the arms (biceps, brachioradilis) and legs (extension of the foot, which makes the calf muscles eccentric). The tic-tac-toe panel increases kids’ mind-body alertness, and it strengthens little hands, fingers, and deltoid (shoulder) muscles. And the slide offers aerobic exercise and improves children’s balance.
